Γύρος - Gyros - Giros
my favourite Greek meal..

lemon (juice) |

onions (cut into slim slices) |

olive oil (ca. 1/2 cup) |
Tzatziki dip: |

ca. 300g |
yoghurt |
2-3 cloves |
garlic (chopped) |
ca. 1/2 |
cucumber |
some |
olive oil |
some |
lemon juice |
some |
salt |

Garnish: |

4-5 big |
potatoes |

Gyro meat:
Cut the meat in thin stripes and mix it with the ingredients for the marinade. Cover it with a plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator over night.
The next day fry it in a pan (you can just put all in the pan, you don't need to drain the meat). You don't need any additional oil (but you can add some if you think it's not enough).
Tzatziki dip:
Wash and grate the cucumber. Add salt and wait a few minutes, then squash it so the dip is not too watery.
Mix it with the yoghurt and the other ingredients.
Garnish/Potatoes:
Peel the potatoes, cut it into thin slices and wash it. Fry the potatoes in a pan or deep fryer.
Serving:
Serve with cucumber salad or lettuce.
